Nanobrows (Machine Hairstrokes) vs. Microblading
Nanobrows (Machine Hairstrokes) and Microblading are both semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement techniques designed to create fuller, more defined brows. However, the methods and results differ in key ways. Nanobrows are our preferred method and we have stopped microblading for many reasons. Nanobrows is best for new clients without previous work, or those in whom their microblading has faded enough. If you have previously had microblading and the strokes are still visible, we will need to assess if they can be touched up with Nanobrows, or whether laser removal is required.
Nanobrows (Machine Hairstrokes)
Nanobrows use a specialized machine to implant pigment into the skin, mimicking the natural look of hair strokes. This technique allows for precise, fine strokes that are thinner and more detailed than traditional microblading. It’s ideal for sensitive skin or those with oily skin, as the machine technique tends to hold pigment longer and more consistently. The results are ultra-realistic, providing natural-looking brows with a subtle, delicate finish. Nanobrows can also feature strokes with different intensities and overlapping strokes, creating a more natural and customized look compared to microblading. The technique is also painless, providing a more comfortable experience. Nanobrows tend to last between 1 to 3 years, depending on skin type and aftercare.
Benefits of Nanobrows:
More precision for natural, thin strokes
Suitable for all skin types (especially oily or sensitive skin)
Long-lasting results (1 to 3 years)
Painless procedure for maximum comfort
Strokes can be done with different intensities for a more personalized look
Overlapping strokes create a more natural appearance than microblading
Less maintenance required
Diamond Nanobrows™ are the next evolution in hyper-realistic brow artistry - designed for those who want effortlessly full, soft, and natural-looking brows. Using an ultra-fine nano needle and advanced pigment techniques, each hair stroke is delicately implanted with precision to mimic real brow hairs for a seamless, airy finish. Unlike traditional microblading, Diamond Nanobrows™ heal cleaner, last longer, and suit even delicate or oily skin types. The result? Perfectly balanced, low-maintenance brows that enhance your features and bring effortless confidence to your everyday look. This technique can be considered as “Nanobrows 2.0” and is exclusive to BLADE.
Microblading - phased out
Microblading is a hand-done technique where a small, specialized blade is used to manually create hair-like strokes in the brow area, similar to light cuts in the skin. The results typically last between 12 to 18 months, but they generally blur a little with time, especially on oily skin. It is now considered an outdated technique since machine hairstrokes (nanobrows) came on the market, it looks less natural, and is usually painful, even with numbing cream. Now that we have a much better technique, we decided to no longer continue with microblading for many reasons.
